In the long road to recovery, search and healing efforts are continuing nearly two weeks after the devastating floods impacting Hill County. Volunteer Development professional Tracy Ingersoll highlights the current ongoing efforts and how you can get involved:
American Red Cross
If you are interested in volunteering or donating to help support search and healing efforts in Hill County, consider first reaching out to the local chapters of the American Red Cross. As in many active natural disaster response efforts across the country and even beyond, the American Red Cross is always at the ready — and looking for support!
Texas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster
Texas Voluntary Organization Active in Disaster (TVOAD) is actively engaged in cleanup and recovery activities in response to the floods in Hill County, Texas. Their presence in this effort is anticipated to continue for the weeks and months ahead, as the communities seek to rebuild. Volunteer interest and donations from supporters across the country continues to be a valuable and integral part of TVOAD’s impact.
Team Rubicon
Team Rubicon is actively assisting in recovery efforts. Greyshirt volunteers with the nonprofit organization have their boots on the ground as flood victims recover in Texas. Team Rubicon has arrived in Kerr and Tom Green counties; the primary areas of the organization’s current assistance efforts, as these are the hardest hit areas at the current time.
Heart to Heart
Heart to Heart volunteers are responding to the devastating flash floods in Texas. As the affected communities continue to recover, Heart to Heart is on the ground sending vital aid to those in need. Donations for relief efforts are encouraged with a current match effort being hosted by Charlie’s Car Wash & Blue Beacon Truck Wash events.
